2010 has seen a flurry of kid's movies at the box office. Most of them like Alice in Wonderland and Toy Story 3 have clicked well with the audience and have done excellent business worldwide. Here is a look at all kid's movies which are due for release this year and the next.
Megamind is the first movie in the list of soon to be released kid's movies. Produces by Dream Works Animation, Megamind is an animated comedy which is set to release worldwide on November 5th 2010 in 3D. Directed by Tom McGrath, the movie has voice over's by Will Ferrel as Megamind, Tina Fey as Roxanne Ritchie, Jonah Hill as Titan and Brad Pitt as Metro Man among others. The teaser trailer looks interesting and the movie promises to be a treat for kids.
Yogi Bear Dvd Release Date
Tangled is the next movie on the list and it is scheduled for a November 24th 2010 worldwide release. Initially titled Rapunzel, Tangled is produced by Walt Disney Animation Studios and will release in 3D. The film will be the 50th animated feature film of the Walt Disney Animated Classics series. Mandy Moore and Zachary Levi have lent their voices for Rapunzel and Flynn Rider respectively. As the initial title suggests, the film is based on Rapunzel, the famous German fairytale by the Brothers Grimm.
Yogi Bear is yet another 3D kid's movie which is set for a year end release. Distributed by Warner Bros, Yogi Bear is a live action/ CGI film produced by Hanna-Barbera productions. The movie releases on December 17th 2010 and stars Dan Aykroyd as Yogi Bear. Directed by Eric Brevig, the movie is expected to be a good entertainer.
Gulliver's Travels will be the last of the kid's movie releasing in 2010. Gulliver's Travels is an adventure film based on Jonathan Swift's novel by the same name. Jack Black plays the role of Gulliver while Catherine Tate stars as the queen of Lilliput. The film is directed by Rob Letterman and distributed by 20th Century Fox. The film was initially supposed to have a June 2010 release which was later pushed back to December 22nd 2010. Gulliver's Travels too will release in 3D, thus promising a treat for the eyes.
Moving on to 2011, Disney recently announced the Phineas and Ferb Disney Channel original movie. The movie is based on the popular TV series Phineas and Ferb and will be aired sometime in June 2011.
